Glass Dragonfly Flower Stakes
Add a little colour and sparkle to your plants with a handmade stained-glass dragonfly. In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll create your own colourful dragonfly and turn it into a garden or flower-pot stake to take home with you.
No stained-glass experience is required. You’ll be guided through the complete process from start to finish while learning the fundamental techniques of the Tiffany stained-glass method: glass selection and cutting, grinding, copper foiling, soldering, and finishing. You’ll also learn how to securely attach your finished dragonfly to a brass stake and reinforce it for display.
Class schedule: This is a focused 4-hour workshop. We’ll begin with an introduction to the tools, materials, and safe handling of glass, followed by demonstrations and hands-on work through each stage of the process. By the end of the class, you’ll leave with a completed stained-glass dragonfly stake ready to brighten up a plant, garden, or windowsill.
Get ready for class: Closed-toe shoes are mandatory. Long pants and sleeves are recommended. Please wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting a little dusty. All tools and materials are provided.
Please note: A minimum of 3 students is required for this course to run. In the rare event that this minimum is not met, we will notify you in advance and provide a full refund or the option to transfer to another date.
Studio Accessibility: Our studio is on the 3rd floor. The building has an interior elevator, but please be aware that the main entrance is elevated and accessed via stairs.
Courses are given primarily in English although we can also provide instructions in French.
