Embossed Mugs - Class
Embossed Mugs: Have you ever wondered how to create fine, raised details in clay? In this beginner-friendly workshop, we will explore an accessible, creative method for bringing beautiful textured patterns to life by crafting your very own Embossed Mug. You’ll design your own custom pattern, transfer the relief directly onto the clay, and hand-build a complete mug. We will also use the same technique to create a matching custom handle.
No experience required, just start thinking on your design and we’ll make it pop!
Class schedule: This one session course consists of a 2.5-hour guided instructional block and a 30-minute closing period. We begin with a technical demonstration, followed by dedicated hands-on building time. The final 30 minutes are reserved for wrapping your work correctly to ensure proper drying for the next stage, alongside returning tools and keeping our shared studio neat. You will be able to pick up your pieces 3 to 4 weeks after the last session.
Get ready for class by: trimming your nails so they do not scratch the clay, taking off rings and bracelets so clay does not get stuck in them, and putting on old clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.
Please note: A minimum of 3 students is required for this course to run. In the rare event that this minimum is not met, we will notify you in advance and provide a full refund or the option to transfer to another date.
Studio Accessibility: Our studio is on the 3rd floor. The building has an interior elevator, but please be aware that the main entrance is elevated and accessed via stairs.
Courses are given primarily in English although we can also provide instructions in French.
